FAQs

Please reach out to us at nikhilandsowmya@gmail.com for any further questions.

Do I need a passport to visit Mexico City?

Yes.  Please check Mexico travel guidelines and your airline requirements for specifics.  Typically, US Citizens do not require special visas and passports must be valid upon entry. Note that some airlines may require passports valid for 6 months.

Are guests required to be fully vaccinated against Covid?

Yes - Guests are required to be fully vaccinated for all events (including booster). For those that are medically prevented from being vaccinated, please contact us! This is for the safety of all guests, vendors, and Mexico City residents.

Is Mexico City safe?

Yes, it is. Like any large city, certain parts of Mexico City are known to be unsafe and there are neighborhoods that should be avoided. Stick to recommended areas, be alert, & use common sense.

Can I drink the water in Mexico City?

Mexico City’s tap water is undrinkable for locals and tourists alike. But there is plenty of drinking water at the events and throughout the city. We recommend to stick with bottled water or filtered water and no ice at restaurants. Just in case, bring Imodium or Pepto! We want you to stay healthy throughout the festivities and after your trip!

How do I pay for things while I explore Mexico City?

Most places take credit cards, but we recommend bringing Mexican pesos for tips, public restrooms, street vendors, etc. Make sure your credit card is set for international travel and does not have international fees.  Also, you will see the “$“ sign on all prices, but this refers to the Mexican Peso, not the U.S. dollar.

Should I tip?

It is customary to tip 10-15% at restaurants, depending on the service, of course.

Will my phone work in Mexico City?

It depends on your carrier and plan. Please check with your carrier beforehand. Otherwise, most places have complimentary Wi-Fi. WhatsApp works great! We recommend using WhatsApp to text and call while connected to Wi-Fi.

How do I schedule a Covid test for my departure from Mexico City?

This is a priority for us. More details will be provided closer to the weekend.

Ok, so your wedding events are spread across three days. What else should I do in Mexico City?

We're so glad you asked! SO MUCH to do. We compiled some of our favorites recommendations across food, drink, cultural sites, architecture, parks, and even neighborhoods to stroll in. Check out Explore CDMX for more info. As always, please reach out if you have any questions or need any tips!

How do I RSVP?

Please follow this link to RSVP for the individuals on the invitation.

Are kids invited?

We love your kids—we really do. This was a hard decision for us, but this will be an adults only weekend.

Do you have a registry?

No registry. And no gifts, please. Your presence with us is all that we need.

How can I stay up-to-date on what's going on that weekend? There are a lot of events.
We'll create an alerts-only WhatsApp group to keep all guests informed and updated on wedding events, shuttle schedules, and other information that could make your experience more comfortable. We'll send the group-invite link as we get closer to the wedding. Make sure you join! We won't spam you.
